Hello and thank you for returning to my blog!
In
connection to my last blog, quarantine not only provided us with the
possibility of lazy days. Instead many of us looked upon quarantine as an
opportunity to get in shape. Although, irrespective of the abundance of
quarantine home workouts and fitness challenges many of us, whether we like to
admit it or not, failed to achieve our fitness goals.
One
quarantine queen who I admire greatly, managed to achieve all of her fitness aspirations
while securing her dream job. Stay tuned and read the story of Mhairi Agnew, a professional
volleyball player living the dream in Paris.
After
initially meeting Mhairi at Su Ragazzi volleyball club, based in Glasgow,
before COVID-19 existed. It wasn’t long until Mhairi had secured her first
professional contract with CEP Poitiers Saint-Benoit in Poitiers, France. As
she set off on her journey to a new country with a completely new team, the
hard work was just beginning. After a successful season - showcased in her highlights video below - Mhairi left her team
early to return home due to COVID-19, although her dedication to a career in
professional volleyball still remained.
Five months
later Mhairi signed her second contract for USV Volley-ball, this time
progressing into the French Elite Division.
Two months ago, Mhairi flew to Paris to begin pre-season with USV Volley-ball.
All of
Mhairi’s friends and family at home, here in Scotland, are unbelievably proud
of what Mhairi has achieved especially at these difficult times. We can’t wait
to fly to Paris to celebrate and cheer you on from the volleyball stands!
